The way we are working is changing.

The Home is becoming a place to work as well as to live, and in a wide variety of different guises. Many trades and professions have done this for years but the improved communications afforded by new technology has allowed this possibility to encompass whole new fields of activities.

And the effect on the conventional office facility is just as significant and is discussed in HOT DESKING / DESK SHARING but here we are focusing on the many varieties of Home Office solutions required depending on the facilities available and on the extent and frequency of working from home.

In terms of Home Office facilities and extent/frequency, this can range from the Self Employed / Home Worker who exclusively work from home and therefore require dedicated facilities preferably in a separate room, to sales personnel who do not work from home but who need to regularly report to or receive support from a central resource and need little more that a communications centre.

A Dedicated Room can be in the form of a converted loft, home extension, garden shed, or even a box bedroom. Whereas a communications centre may require little more than a PC and modem.
